Oxford Edens chimney sweeping COVID precautions

If you or anyone in your household is feeling unwell has been exposed to someone with COVID symptoms up to 14 days before your chimney sweep is booked please let us know so we can rearrange your chimney sweep.

Likewise, if our chimney sweep is feeling unwell or has come into contact with someone with COVID symptoms up to 14 days before your chimney sweep is booked we will rearrange your chimney sweep.

Please ensure that the area around your chimney is clear including moving any ornaments, fire baskets etc. so our chimney sweep does not need to touch them and wherever possible please leave doors open.

If possible, we ask that only one other person is in the room with our chimney sweep and maintains social distancing.

We will now be using disposable dust sheets and at the end of each sweep our chimney sweep will secure the waste from the chimney and used dust sheets in a plastic bin bag.  We ask that he can dispose of this in your general waste bin so that he is not taking waste away from people’s houses at this time.

Our chimney sweep will wear a mask and gloves in your house and will disinfect anything he has touched prior to leaving.

In order to minimise handling of paper we will email your invoice after your chimney sweep has taken place and ask that you pay by bank transfer rather than cash or cheque.

We can issue you a National Association of Chimney Sweeps sweep certificate if you would like one.  These are currently paper certificates and will be posted out to you after your sweep.  We understand NACS are working on an electronic certificate.

Thank you for your co-operation in keeping yourself and our chimney sweep safe.

Just paid your invoice.  Very many thanks – My son said how much he enjoyed meeting Shaun, how extremely tidy and efficient he was and what he great job he made of the chimney and stacking the logs.  Given half a chance, we’ll be recommending your company to anyone who needs logs and/or a chimney swept. – J and E, Oxford
